ขณะเดียวกัน ในช่วงบ่ายวันเดียวกัน บริเวณหน้าศาลากลางจังหวัดได้มีการจัดกิจกรรมเปิดพื้นที่สร้างการรับรู้และให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับโครงการ EEC แก่ประชาชนในพื้นที่ โดยมีการตั้งรถเวที เครื่องเสียง และจอโปรเจกเตอร์ขนาดใหญ่ มีประชาชนเข้าร่วมรับฟังประมาณ 200 คน ซึ่งกิจกรรมให้ความรู้นี้มีกำหนดจัดขึ้นเป็นเวลา 3 วัน
บรรยากาศการดำเนินกิจกรรมเป็นไปอย่างสงบเรียบร้อย มุ่งเน้นการอธิบายเนื้อหาและโอกาสทางการพัฒนาที่จะเกิดขึ้นกับจังหวัดปราจีนบุรี โดยมีวิทยากรและบุคคลในท้องถิ่นขึ้นผลัดเปลี่ยนกันให้ข้อมูล อาทิ อดีต สจ., ผู้สมัคร สส.พรรคเพื่อไทย และแกนนำในพื้นที่ ร่วมขึ้นเวทีถ่ายทอดรายละเอียดถึงประโยชน์จากการยกระดับปราจีนบุรี ให้เป็นพื้นที่ต่อเนื่องจาก 3 จังหวัดนำร่อง ได้แก่ ระยอง ชลบุรี และฉะเชิงเทรา
ทางด้าน นายจำรัส ง้อบุตร หนึ่งในผู้ร่วมจัดกิจกรรมสื่อสารข้อมูล เปิดเผยว่า การนำข้อมูลเรื่องเขตพัฒนาพิเศษภาคตะวันออก (EEC) มาถ่ายทอดให้ประชาชนได้รับทราบอย่างทั่วถึง ถือเป็นสิ่งจำเป็นอย่างยิ่ง เนื่องจากโครงการดังกล่าวเน้นการพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานและอุตสาหกรรมเทคโนโลยีชั้นสูง เช่น โครงการรถไฟความเร็วสูงเชื่อม 3 สนามบิน (ดอนเมือง-สุวรรณภูมิ-อู่ตะเภา) และการขยายท่าเรือแหลมฉบังและมาบตาพุด
การให้ข้อมูลในครั้งนี้ครอบคลุมแผนพัฒนาพื้นที่เป้าหมาย 8.3 ล้านไร่ ซึ่งไม่เพียงแต่ส่งผลต่อมิติทางเศรษฐกิจเท่านั้น แต่ยังรวมถึงการส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยว การพัฒนาบุคลากรทางการศึกษา งานวิจัย ธุรกิจการเงิน และเทคโนโลยี เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมให้แก่เยาวชนและนักศึกษาจบใหม่ในจังหวัดปราจีนบุรี ได้มีโอกาสทำงานในบ้านเกิดและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในระยะยาว การเปิดเวทีครั้งนี้จึงมุ่งหวังให้ประชาชนได้รับข้อมูลครบถ้วนเพื่อประโยชน์ของท้องถิ่นต่อไป
